How to use Tea Tree Oil for Dandruff and Hair and Why it works
Tea tree oil, also known as Melaleuca oil and comes from an Australian plant. The oil has certain properties that makes it antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. The oil is used for several purposes which includes controlling dandruff, healing minor wounds and also smothering the lice present in hair. Tea tree oil exists in several concentrations and also, it is a strong essential oil.

The overgrown fungus on the scalp are often as a result of poor hygiene habits, that may include not shampooing. It may also be as a result of poor medical condition. Tea tree oil helps to reduce the greasiness, lesions and itchiness associated with dandruff.
The following are ways to use tea tree oil in treating dandruff:
• Purchase a shampoo that has about five percent tea tree oil
• Add between five to ten drops of the oil to the shampoo bottle (about five percent) and shake it vigorously. Massage the mixture gently into the scalp and make sure to rinse it thoroughly.
• You can also make tea tree oil shampoo from the very beginning. The recipe for this shampoo makes use of vitamin E oil, coconut milk, olive oil, baking soda, filtered water and also, tea tree oil.

Ingredients:
1/8 cup coconut milk
2/3 cup baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil
20 drops of tea tree oil
1/2 tsp olive oil
1/4 cup filtered water
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a jar.
Shake well to mix.
This blend will last in-shower for up to a month.
Shake before each use.
Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.
